Truman Holds Sacramento Scoreless
|
James Truman of the San Francisco Spots shut out the Sacramento Miners, 4-0, at Miners Park, holding them to 6 hits with 1 walk and 5 strikeouts.
Pressed for comments on his club's defeat, Sacramento skipper Simon Howson called the outing from Truman "a jewel."
"The way Truman was pitching, it would have been tough for anyone to beat him," he said.
Truman has made 27 starts this season, posting 11 wins and 11 losses. Opposing clubs are batting .247 against him and he has 95 strikeouts in 207 innings with a 2.91 ERA.
