Bennett Silences Los Angeles, 6-0
|
The Los Angeles Lions met their match today in Oakland hurler Lee Bennett. He kept them guessing the whole game and spun a 4-hit shutout.
"He just worked us over," Los Angeles skipper Reinhold Elliott said. "He probably didn't even need a shower after the game -- he barely worked up a sweat."
In the 6-0 victory, Bennett whiffed 4 and gave up no walks.
So far this year, Bennett has made 23 starts, tossed 186.2 innings, struck out 61 batters and walked 52. His record is 10-6 with a 2.17 ERA and he has limited opposing teams to a .214 batting average.
