Fans witnessed a whale of a game between the Los Angeles Lions and Oakland Ducks.

Alfonso Hall, the 5th overall pick in the 1911 draft, never let the Ducks get in a groove. The right-hander used his bread and butter, his splitter, to pitch the Lions to a win, 2-1. The third-place Lions go to 38-40.

Hall earned the win to move to 13-6. In his complete game performance, he allowed 1 run on 5 hits, striking out 4 and walking 2.

"I always intend to finish what I've started," said Hall.
