The Los Angeles Lions picked up a win at Lions Park, knocking off the San Francisco Spots, 4-3. On the mound for Los Angeles was right-hander Theodore Smith. He played a key role in the triumph. The third-place Lions go to 36-39.

The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the ninth inning, when Los Angeles right fielder Thaddeus Coxall, facing Adam Pinchbeck, had a run-scoring hit-by-pitch. It gave the Lions the 4-3 win.

"What a great game, great atmosphere," Coxall said.
