Los Angeles Lions starter Alfonso Hall led his team to victory over the San Francisco Spots, 5-2. The right-hander was locked-in. Los Angeles, now 37-38, holds down second place in the Californian Professional League.

The Spots had been locked in a 0-0 tie with the Lions going into the bottom of the fourth inning. That changed quickly when the slugging center fielder Albert Foale came to the plate. Foale hit a run-scoring double on a first pitch changeup from San Francisco hurler James Truman. It was Foale's 8th double of the year.

Hall attributed the win to "everyone pulling their weight."
