Lions Edge Ducks, 2-1
|
The Lions faced a stiff challenge from Oakland pitcher Norman Postlethwaite, but persevered to claim a win at Ducks Ballpark. The final score was 2-1. Postlethwaite went 7 innings and allowed 2 runs. Alfonso Hall locked down his 4th save. The second-place Ducks dropped to 34-37.
The Lions got a big hit from right fielder Thaddeus Coxall. Facing Oakland pitcher Norman Postlethwaite in the top of the fifth, Coxall pounded a run-scoring triple to left-center. His 1st triple of the season put the Lions ahead, 2-0.
"There are no moral victories," said losing manager Omar Riditch.
