Miners Earn 3-1 Home Win
|
Carmelo Evans, who is tied for 6th in the CPL in innings pitched with 110.2, had a strong outing for the Sacramento Miners against the San Francisco Spots at Miners Park. The left-hander was a big part of his team's 3-1 win. Bruce Mabbett was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 7 of 8 save opportunities. The Miners go to 22-40 with the win.
In the top of the ninth, Edward Anderson stood in the box, looking for a pitch to hammer. The Spots were trailing 3-1, but had runners on 1st and 2nd. That's when Bruce Mabbett made a terrific pitch and Anderson grounded out. Gone was the dream of a San Francisco comeback.
