Oakland beat Sacramento on the strength of starting pitcher Norman Postlethwaite's fine effort. The right-hander led his team to a win, 5-3. Angelo Tolley was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 11 of 14 save opportunities. Oakland improves to 36-25 with the win. They lead their division by 2 games.

Clarence Clark had a big 2-run double for the Ducks in the bottom of the second inning. With Oakland leading 1-0 and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he got a curveball from Luciano Priestley, who is tied for 3rd in the CPL in strikeouts with 60, and swatted a double to right-center. It was his 13th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Ducks ahead, 3-0.

"It's always a heck of a lot easier to get to sleep after a win," Clark told the Oakland News. "I know I'll rest easy tonight."
