Ducks Take Tight Tilt
|
In a low-scoring contest, Oakland pitcher Norman Postlethwaite was marvelous, enabling his team to nab a 2-1 win. Postlethwaite picked up the win for Oakland, going 7 innings. He gave up 1 run on 4 hits. He now sports a record of 3-1. Oakland has now won 3 straight, while the Spots have lost 3 in a row.
With scoring opportunities rare, the Ducks had to cash in when they had the chance. One such opportunity presented itself in the bottom of the fifth, when third baseman Wilson Keetley hit a 2-run single. The single came off Bennie Hardesty and made the score 2-1, Ducks. Keetley went 1-4, while adding 2 RBI.
"We played a good game and came out on top," said Postlethwaite.
