Lions Absorb 4-1 Loss at Ducks Ballpark
Oakland turned a good performance from starting pitcher Norman Postlethwaite into a 4-1 triumph over the Los Angeles Lions at Ducks Ballpark. Postlethwaite, the winner, moves to 4-2. He threw 7 innings of 3-hit ball, while fanning 2 and giving up 2 walks. Angelo Tolley earned the save, his 4th.

The Lions had been locked in a 1-1 tie with the Ducks going into the bottom of the fifth inning. That changed quickly when the 1915 Rookie of the Year Award winner Clarence Clark came to the plate. Clark hit a run-scoring double on a 1-0 sinker from Los Angeles hurler Verne Bell. It was Clark's 8th double of the year.

Oakland manager Omar Riditch commended his team for exhibiting "no shortage of effort."

The Ducks, now 25-10, have won 7 in a row.
