Canaries Beaten, 4-1, by Goobers
Savannah and Saint Louis took Mother Nature's best shot and still managed to complete their ballgame.

The Savannah Goobers downed the Saint Louis Canaries, 4-1, at Goobers Ballpark. Stellar pitching by Don Richardson had a lot to do with it. The right-hander, who won the Pitcher of the Year Award in 1910, handcuffed his opponent all game. John Kincannon earned the save for Savannah, his 1st of the year.

Savannah took control in the bottom of the seventh. With one out and a runner on 2nd, Red Gillespie hit a run-scoring single to make it 2-1, Goobers.

"I felt good. I felt like I was locating the ball well and I was able to keep them off-balance," said Richardson.

The Canaries drop to 6-9, as their stumbling start to the 1915 season continues.
