Nickajacks Get Clutch 5-4 Win
|
The Chattanooga Nickajacks knocked off the Richmond Black Rifles, 5-4, at Nickajacks Ballpark. It took 13 innings. Raymond Edwards was a prime reason Chattanooga won. The second baseman went 2-4 with 2 singles and 3 walks. He scored 2 runs. Chattanooga reliever David Robinson picked up the win, upping his record to 2-4. Wild Dan Johnston absorbed the loss. The Nickajacks, at 48-52, sit in second place in the Great Southern Dixie.
The Nickajacks got a clutch hit from left fielder Eddie Gransbury. In the bottom of the 13th, he delivered a run-scoring single to win the game for the Nickajacks.
"Great to get the crowd on its feet," Gransbury said.
