Raymond Edwards did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the Chattanooga Nickajacks from being beaten, 8-5, to the Memphis Bears at Bears Ballpark. Edwards was 3 for 5 with a triple and 2 singles. He scored 3 times. John Coley earned the win to go to 3-0. He allowed 5 runs on 7 hits, with 4 walks and 1 strikeout in 8 innings of work. The loss lowers the Chattanooga record to 2-8.

Memphis went up, 7-5, on James Clark's 1st triple of the season. The 2-run triple, which Clark hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Chattanooga pitcher Charles Logan muttering to himself.

"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Clark. "And not try to do too much."
