Nolan Napier was locked and loaded, helping the Savannah Goobers beat the Saint Louis Canaries, 4-0. Napier got the win, improving to 8-10. He gave up 5 hits and walked 0 over 6 innings. He allowed no runs. Savannah is now 52-42.
Tied up with the Canaries in the top of the fourth inning, the Goobers got a boost from second baseman Vicial Brown. With the bases loaded, Brown saw a 2-0 changeup from Eugene Cooper and hit a 2-run single to break the stalemate and put Savannah on top, 2-0.
