Warner Alexander had the Chattanooga Nickajacks dancing to his tune during a sparkling 3-0 shutout performance for the Richmond Black Rifles. He gave up 3 hits, issued no walks and had 3 strikeouts.

Chattanooga hitters were bewildered throughout the game by his delivery.

"When you face a guy who hides the ball like he does, it takes a couple of at-bats to try to find his release point," opposing manager John Johnson said. "We just never figured him out."
