Bears Absorb 4-2 Home Loss
|
The Kansas City Stars and Memphis Bears played an exciting game.
Kansas City pitcher Robert Bright had a large part in his team beating the Memphis Bears, 4-2. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Bright, the winner, moves to 8-9. He threw 8.1 innings of 1-hit ball, while fanning 4 and giving up 5 walks.
Kansas City used a clutch at-bat from Bill Hairston to capture the win. The third baseman hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Stars ahead, 2-1. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
"We take it day by day here," said Bright, "and today was a good one for us."
Kansas City now owns a record of 47-40.
