The Birmingham Black Magic locked up a win at Goobers Ballpark, knocking off the Savannah Goobers, 5-1. On the mound for Birmingham was right-hander William Taylor. He played a major role in the triumph. Taylor got the win, improving to 7-4. He gave up 6 hits and walked 2 over 8 innings. He allowed 1 run. The win puts the Black Magic at 42-45, while the Goobers drop to 47-40.

Harry McIntosh helped his team jump on top from the get-go. His first time up in the top of the first, he cranked a run-scoring single to give Birmingham a 1-0 lead.
