Kansas City Gets Riveting Walk-Off Win
|
The 4-3 Kansas City win over Atlanta was due in large part to Bill Hairston. The Stars third baseman was 3-4 with 3 singles, while adding 3 RBI. The win gives Kansas City a record of 2-5.
The game was decided with one out in the bottom of the ninth. With Kansas City trailing 3-2, Hairston hit a curveball from Charles Christopher for a 2-run single. In the blink of an eye, the Stars had a walk-off win.
Kansas City manager Tommy Ormes was pleased with the team's effort. "Our guys played hard," he said.
