Tight Tilt Goes to Nickajacks, 2-1
|
In a tight contest between the Chattanooga Nickajacks and the Saint Louis Canaries, Henry Passon was the determining factor. The Chattanooga right-hander sparkled in his team's 2-1 win. Chattanooga is now 33-38.
Roy Merida had a direct impact on the outcome. Merida contributed a run-scoring triple in the top of the second inning to put Chattanooga up, 2-0.
"This isn't football or hockey where you can overwhelm your opponents," Passon told the Chattanooga Times. "Everyone gets 27 outs and we happened to make the most of them."
