Stars Earn Late Win
|
The Kansas City Stars beat the Chattanooga Nickajacks, 5-4, in part because of right fielder James Beal. He was 2-4 with a home run and a double, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. John Nelson earned the win for Kansas City. He lasted 8 innings, allowing 4 runs on 8 hits, while striking out 7. With the win, he raised his record to 2-0. Kansas City has a record of 5-2.
Making an impact for the home team was Clifford Boada. In the bottom of the second, the slugging first baseman had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. That made the score 4-2, Stars.
"Nice to tuck this win away," said Boada.
