Bears Bridle Foxes, 2-0
|
Ted Shelton pitched well, but the Atlanta Foxes still lost the game, falling, 2-0, to the Memphis Bears at Bears Ballpark. Picking up his 3rd save was 30-year old right-handed pitcher Upton Grant. The Bears go to 26-38 with the win.
The game was on the line with two out in the top of the eighth inning, but Upton Grant didn't flinch. With runners on 1st and 2nd and Atlanta trailing 2-0, Grant retired Jonas Green to end the threat. "Nothing to it," said Grant, with a wink.
