Black Cats Take Tight Tangle
The Cleveland Black Cats had to overcome a fine effort from Indianapolis pitcher Kid Paul to win, 3-2, at Capitol Field. Paul went 7.2 innings and allowed 1 run. Ormand Trent recorded his 3rd save for Cleveland. The current losing streak for Indianapolis has reached 7 games.

Cleveland used a timely hit from Tom Lamar to get the win. The pinch hitter stroked a 2-run double in the top of the eighth inning to put the Black Cats ahead, 2-1. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it made an impact.

"We've got to kick it in gear soon," said Indianapolis manager Tom Smith.
