With 2-1 Win, Keystones Improve to 67-51
|
Keystones Park hosted a real pitchers' duel.
Philadelphia got a strong outing from Gunboat Leonard as the Keystones defeated the New York Black Kings, 2-1, at Keystones Park. Earning his 16th save for Philadelphia was Maywood Daniels.
Nate Boyd went 2 for 4 with 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI for Philadelphia. The 24-year old center fielder had a key at-bat in the bottom of the fifth. With one out and runners on 1st and 3rd, he broke a 1-1 tie with a run-scoring ground out off Paul Clark. It was his 35th RBI of the season.
"Some games build character," said Philadelphia manager Chuck Southy. "Like this one."
With the win, Philadelphia upped its record to 67-51.
