Jim Thomas, who is tied for 6th in the GNL in home runs with 4, led Pittsburgh to a win over Cleveland. The final score was 12-5. Thomas scored 3 times, while going 3 for 5. The third baseman also was credited with 1 RBI. Pittsburgh pitcher Clyde Sutton got the win, upping his record to 4-4. Phillie Brown got the loss. After today's action, Pittsburgh sits at 65-48; Cleveland slips to 56-57.

Leon Hayes had a big run-scoring double for the Rollers in the bottom of the second inning. With Pittsburgh leading 1-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a fastball from Phillie Brown and swatted a double to left-center. It was his 26th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Rollers ahead, 2-0.

"We hit the ball on the barrel," said Pittsburgh manager Johnny Grant.
