Philadelphia 8-1 Victors at Capitol Field
|
Indianapolis had no answer for Philadelphia Keystones hurler Jack Campanella, who overwhelmed Stars hitters as the Keystones coasted to victory, 8-1. Campanella, now 14-8, was the winner. In 7.2 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 4, walking 6, and allowing 1 run. With the win, the Keystones hiked their record to 55-41.
Nate Boyd drove in 2 runs for Philadelphia. The 24-year old center fielder had a key at-bat in the top of the third. With no one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 1-1 tie with a run-scoring ground out off Kid Paul. It was his 28th RBI of the season.
"Whenever we hold the other team to one run," said Keystones manager Chuck Southy, "I like our chances."
