Rollers Use Late Rally to Win
The Pittsburgh Rollers downed the Brooklyn Cuban Stars, 8-6. The hitting star was second baseman Gus Ware. Ware was 2-2 with a home run and a double, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for the Rollers. Pittsburgh reliever Bill Josephs picked up the win, raising his record to 4-1. Larry Eagle was tagged with the loss. The Cuban Stars, now 39-46, have lost 4 straight.

Bozo Morgan provided a timely hit. The Pittsburgh pinch hitter delivered a 2-run triple in the top of the eighth inning to put the Rollers on top, 6-5. It was his only hit in the game, but he made it count.

"We're in a little bit of a dry spell," said Brooklyn manager Leroy Fox.
