Indianapolis beat New York at Kings Ballpark, escaping with a 3-2 win. The win in large part was due to second baseman Bob Brooks. He went 2-3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. The Stars, at 46-34, lead by one game in their division.

Brooks had a game-changing home run in the top of the tenth. On a 1-2 fastball from Travers Ninchy, he banged a solo home run to left, giving the Stars a 3-2 lead. It was the 1st home run of the year for Brooks.

"We battled our tails off to get this win," said Indianapolis manager Tom Smith.
