Davis Lauded as Black Kings Defeat Snappers, 9-1
|
Riding the 4-hit performance of the 27-year old left fielder George Davis, the New York Black Kings stopped the Cincinnati Snappers, 9-1. The Black Kings saw their win-loss record go to 49-29. At the same time, the Snappers fell to 21-58.
In the top of the first, Davis had a 2-run triple for New York. It was his 3rd triple of the season and put the Black Kings on top, 2-0.
"The boys were really swinging the bats today," winning manager Walter Dunlap said.
