Stars Turn Back Electrics, 4-2
|
Buffalo got a big-time effort from pitcher Hamilton Armstrong, but it wasn't enough to keep the Indianapolis Stars from winning the game, 4-2. Armstrong threw 8.0 innings of 3-hit ball for the losing team. The Stars saw their record improve to 33-37.
The Stars got a big boost from catcher Ed Maxwell who had a run-scoring walk in the bottom of the first inning off Electrics hurler Hamilton Armstrong. It was his 24th walk of the season and put Indianapolis on top, 1-0.
After the game, Indianapolis manager Tom Smith applauded the team's effort. "We put some good AB's together," he said.
