Cuban Stars Pull Out Late-Game Win, 4-3
The Brooklyn Cuban Stars picked up a win at Field of the Whales, taking down the Buffalo Electrics, 4-3. Starting pitcher Jim Goodwin was a big reason why. At 28-30, Brooklyn is in last place in the Great Northern Gotham.

Batting in the bottom of the ninth, 32-year old second baseman Lamar Cooper had a real shot to win the game. Buffalo pitcher Fred Kendall was determined not to let it happen. But with two outs, Cooper hit a run-scoring single. The Cuban Stars had a walk-off triumph.

"Nice to tuck this win away," said Goodwin.
