Stars Rally Late to Nip Rollers
The Indianapolis Stars scored a tight, 7-6 win versus the Pittsburgh Rollers at Capitol Field. Indianapolis pitcher Kid Paul held his own in the contest. Indianapolis reliever Calvin Jones got the win, raising his record to 3-4. Bill Josephs was tagged with the loss. The third-place Stars lifted their record to 26-33.

Bubbles Gillard was the walk-off hero for Indianapolis. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Stars first baseman hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.

Gillard told a Indianapolis Gazette reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.
