The Cleveland Black Cats dealt the Indianapolis Stars a 4-1 loss at Newman Field. Henry Taylor was the star on offense. He was 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Alphonso Harris got the win, improving to 7-4. He worked 8 innings, giving up 1 run on 8 hits, while striking out 3 and walking 4. The Black Cats now have a record of 35-22 with the win over Indianapolis.
Early in the game, Taylor had a 2-run home run for Cleveland. It was his 10th home run of the season and put the Black Cats on top, 3-1.
"I'm just trying to make good contact," said Taylor, "one at-bat at a time."
