Philadelphia Keystones starter Gunboat Leonard found his groove in his team's 4-3 win over the Indianapolis Stars. Philadelphia raised its record to 30-24 with the win.

The game was at a stalemate until pinch hitter Tommy Jones came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Indianapolis pitcher Calvin Jones, he hit a 1-1 fastball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Philadelphia on top, 4-3.

"Gunboat was doing a good job pouring in strikes," said Philadelphia manager Chuck Southy.
