Extra-Inning Win by Rollers Over Cuban Stars

The Pittsburgh Rollers picked up a win at Field of the Whales, courtesy of Vic West. The right-hander helped his team stop the Brooklyn Cuban Stars, 3-2. West, now 7-5, was the winner. In 9 innings, he gave up 7 hits, while striking out 4, walking 3, and allowing 1 run. Brooklyn's current losing streak is now 5 games.
Pittsburgh used the timely hitting of Lanky Spencer to seize the win. The shortstop stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the tenth inning to put the Rollers on top, 2-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
In postgame comments to the Pittsburgh News, Spencer said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
