Philadelphia starter Gunboat Leonard pitched well against the Buffalo Electrics at Niagara Park. The right-hander led his team to a win, 5-3. Maywood Daniels finished the game for Philadelphia and earned his 6th save. The win puts Philadelphia at 27-20 this season.

Philadelphia used the timely hitting of Wilson Romes to seize the win. The catcher stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Keystones on top, 4-3. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"I just tried to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Romes.
