Stars Shut Out Snappers, 3-0
|
The Indianapolis Stars welcomed the Cincinnati Snappers to an afternoon game at Capitol Field.
The Indianapolis Stars picked up a win at Capitol Field, courtesy of Roosevelt Collins. The left-hander helped his team stop the Cincinnati Snappers, 3-0. Collins got the win, improving to 6-5. He gave up 8 hits and walked 4 over 8 innings. He allowed no runs.
One pivotal at-bat came in the top of the eighth with one out. With runners on 1st and 2nd and the Snappers trailing 3-0, Roosevelt Collins needed to make a quality pitch. He threw a first pitch sinker to retire Alex Davis, who hit into a double play.
The second-place Stars now have a record of 23-22.
