Black Kings Flatten Black Cats, 9-1
|
New York Black Kings starter Paul Clark had all his pitches working at Newman Field. His stellar performance paved the way for an easy 9-1 New York win over the Cleveland Black Cats. Clark went 8 innings to notch the win. He scattered 6 hits, walked 3, and struck out 3. His record improves to 3-5. New York is first in the Great Northern Gotham with a record of 19-19.
With New York leading 3-0 in the top of the sixth, Clark hit a 2-run single off Cleveland hurler Phillie Brown. It was the 6th hit of the season for Clark and put his team ahead, 5-0.
"I guess we'll all be a happy family for at least one day," said Clark.
