Keystones Get Past Brooklyn, 2-1

The Philadelphia Keystones had to overcome a fine effort from Brooklyn pitcher Gerard Riggins to win, 2-1, in 10 innings at Field of the Whales. Riggins went 9 innings and allowed 2 runs. Leonard Stewart got the win, improving to 4-3. He held the Cuban Stars to 1 run on 6 hits over 9 innings, while striking out 2 and walking 7. Sad Sam Blanchard notched his 4th save of the season.
Philadelphia used the hitting of Sam Brown to pick up the win. The catcher clubbed a run-scoring single in the top of the tenth inning to put the Keystones on top, 2-1. For the game, Brown had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
Philadelphia manager Mark Holland commended his team for "banging out a nice win."
