Black Kings Drop Rollers, 4-3
|
Eugene Rowe, who is tied for 3rd in the GNL in quality starts with 6, had a strong outing for the New York Black Kings against the Pittsburgh Rollers at Kings Ballpark. The right-hander was a big part of his team's 4-3 win. The win went to Travers Ninchy in relief. His record improves to 2-1. Vic West took the loss. Bus Cogdell finished to wrap up his 4th save.
Jim Hancock drove in one run for New York. The three-time Great Glove Award winner had a key at-bat in the bottom of the seventh. With one out and runners on 1st and 3rd, he broke a 3-3 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Vic West. It was his 20th RBI of the season.
"We found a way to get it done," Hancock said.
The victory gives the Black Kings a record of 22-9.
