Cuban Stars Thwart Snappers, 3-1

Larry Eagle was nothing short of phenomenal for the Brooklyn Cuban Stars. The 30-year-old right-hander was a big reason his team beat the Cincinnati Snappers, 3-1. Eagle yielded 1 run over 9 innings to notch the win. He scattered 6 hits, walked 2, and struck out 5. His record improves to 4-3. The win lifted the Brooklyn record to 14-12.
Had Kid Bradley not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 3rd, Bradley hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 2-1, in favor of the Cuban Stars.
"It was a tough night at the plate," said Cincinnati manager Alfred Stevens.
