Keystones Lose Late to Black Kings
|
New York Black Kings starter Roy Colliers turned in an exceptional performance against the Philadelphia Keystones at Keystones Park, resulting in a New York win, 7-1. The victory makes New York 9-3, as the team seeks a return to the playoffs in 1916.
New York relied on the hitting of Ira Cox to pick up the win. The left fielder ripped a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Black Kings on top, 2-1. For the game, Cox had 2 triples and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
"Thought I threw pretty well and overall I felt good," said Colliers.
