Cuban Stars Get One-Run Win at New York
|
In a low-scoring contest between the Brooklyn Cuban Stars and the New York Black Kings, Ralph Foster, who was drafted in the 2nd round of the 1910 draft, proved to be the difference. The Brooklyn right-hander earned props for his performance in the 3-2 Cuban Stars win. The triumph makes Brooklyn 6-4, as the team begins another long trek toward the playoffs in 1915.
Frank Turner hit a 2-run triple off Eugene Rowe in the top of the first, which put the Cuban Stars in front, 2-0. Turner had 1 walk, in addition to the triple. For the game, he went 1 for 3.
"Both teams played hard," said Brooklyn manager Leroy Fox.
