New York Tops Pittsburgh, 5-1
|
Paul Clark never let Pittsburgh get something going. The New York right-hander commanded his curveball in pitching the Black Kings to a 5-1 win. Pittsburgh, with the loss, is 3-4.
New York used the timely hitting of Bill Carter to seize the win. The third baseman stroked a 2-run single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Black Kings on top, 3-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"We'll build on this win," said Carter.
