Tate Spins 3-0 Shutout
|
Richmond Black Rifles starter John Tate really did a number on the Chattanooga Nickajacks, shutting them out, 3-0, on 3 hits in a complete game victory. He issued no walks and had 4 strikeouts.
"We didn't have good at-bats," said Chattanooga manager John Johnson. "I don't make excuses, but when we were playing the game, our energy didn't show. That comes from either extremely good pitching or extremely lousy hitting and seeing as our team has a bunch of good hitters, I have to tip my cap to Tate."
This year, Tate has a 12-15 record with a 2.58 ERA.
