Black Rifles Tack 2-1 Loss on Kansas City
|
The Richmond Black Rifles earned a close win over the Kansas City Stars, thanks in part to Fred Ross. The Richmond left-hander, who finished 5th in the GSL in wins with 17 last year, played a key role in the 2-1 victory. Kansas City drops to 2-3.
A defensive lapse proved costly in the contest. In the top of the sixth, with the game tied, Henry Walker was at the plate when Richmond scored 1 on an error. The miscue enabled the Black Rifles to go in front, 2-1.
"We did just enough to win," Walker said.
