Chattanooga took on Richmond in front of a lively crowd.

The Chattanooga Nickajacks got a good effort from starter Peanuts Black in defeating the Richmond Black Rifles at Black Rifles Ballpark. The final score was 6-1. The Nickajacks now own a record of 51-63.

Doc Smiley had a big 2-run triple for the Nickajacks in the top of the sixth inning. With Chattanooga leading 1-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a fastball from Fred Ross, who finished 5th in the GSL in innings pitched with 263.1 in 1910, and swatted a triple to right-center. It was his 7th triple of the season, and more importantly, it put the Nickajacks ahead, 3-0.

"It's easier to pitch when you get run support," said Black.
