Foxes Win at Home, 3-1
|
Atlanta Foxes starter Charles Christopher turned in a top-notch performance against the Birmingham Black Magic at Foxes Ballpark. The result was a win for the Foxes, 3-1. The win went to William Panier in relief. His record improves to 6-1. Ed Collins took the loss. With the win, the Foxes sit at 32-14.
The game was at a stalemate until catcher Nate Royal came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Birmingham pitcher Ed Collins, he hit a first pitch fastball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Atlanta on top, 2-1.
"Good pitching, clutch hitting," said Atlanta skipper Edward Joseph. "I can't complain."
