Formosan Slaps 7-4 Loss on Manhattan
|
The Formosan Blue Magpie picked up a win at Sun Moon Lake Park, topping the Manhattan Mobsters, 7-4. On the mound for Formosan was right-hander Pat Jimenez. He played a principal role in the triumph. Kevin Castillo earned the save, his 2nd, for the Blue Magpie. Manhattan, with the loss, is 4-4.
The Blue Magpie got a big at-bat from left fielder Mike Matney. For the game, Matney went 1-3 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. In the bottom of the fifth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 1st home run of the season gave Formosan a 3-1 lead.
"I just tried to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Matney.
