Bell Excels in 9-5 Avalon Win
The first-place Avalon Flying Aces took on the Manhattan Mobsters in front of a spirited crowd.

The Avalon Flying Aces topped the Manhattan Mobsters, 9-5, with youngster Josh Bell playing a key role. Bell went 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 4 runs and scored once for the Flying Aces in the win. Andre Pallante, credited with the save, is now 10 for 10 in save opportunities.

Avalon left fielder Dylan Bilson contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the fourth. With two down, he hit a fastball to right field for a 2-run single. It was his 170th hit of the season and put the Flying Aces ahead, 6-1.

"We'll take some time to unwind," said Bilson, "and then get after it again."

With the win, Avalon raised its record to 103-59.
