Gulf Coast designated hitter Chris Majestic had a terrific game, but it still wasn't enough to get his team a win. Majestic slugged 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice, even as Knoxville beat the Storm, 6-3. Lazaro Correa notched his 3rd save in 8 chances. The Smokies sport a record of 57-98.

The game was at a stalemate until catcher Amari Chevis came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Gulf Coast pitcher Marc Rothermel, he hit a 2-2 fastball for a 2-run single. It was a game-changer, putting Knoxville on top, 5-3.

"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Chevis. "And not try to do too much."
